The Captain T.G.S. Ward Collection of Australia/New Zealand-British Maritime Mail

The Captain T.G.S. Ward Collection of 19th century Ship Letters between Great Britain and Australia & New Zealand (in both directions) contains some extraordinary examples of postal history including the earliest example of mail from Western Australia (1830), New Zealand Goldfields mail, the earliest example of a South Australia wreck cover (1838), an 1839 'Free' letter from London to Western Australia, 1843 1d Pink envelope to New South Wales uprated strip of three 1840 2d Blue + 1d Red, numerous examples of registered, redirected mail and unusual frankings and other rare handstruck instructional markings. Much of the collection has been off the market for many decades some of which was acquired privately in the 1950's and '60's.

Central & South America Stamps & Covers

Peter's outstanding collection of South and Central America is dominated by his extremely impressive holding of Venezuela, which includes some real treasures, but contains a good number of scarce items from almost all of the countries in the region including Argentina, Brazil (strong in Bullseyes), Columbia, Mexico, and Uruguay.

The "Longtail" Collection of Bermuda P.H. 1795-1952

The Cavendish June 2016 auction week will feature this comprehensive collection of Bermuda with strength in the Prestamp period (Fleurons, Crowned Circles, etc.), QV cancellation covers, unusual Destinations, Postal Stationery, Airmails, KGV/KGVI Key-Type covers, WWII transit Censor Labels and much more.

The "De Meza" Collection of US/GB Transatlantic Mails

US Transatlantic Mails (1800-1908, both in and out; mainly stamped); including superb 1850's Ocean Penny Postage Propaganda covers (one to Norway & one from Australia), Retaliatory/Restored Rate covers, Late Fees, Prussian Mails, a US cover to China, some rare Canada Map Stamp covers (inc. FDC etc.), and much more.

The "Grayburn" Collection of Transatlantic Mail,
US Classics, US Express Mail & Civil War Patriotic Covers

The range of material includes early 18th century mail from the Colonies to GB, pre-stamp 19th century U.S. Transatlantic mail with U.S. mail carried on GB ships & French mail carried by U.S. ships, later mail to U.S. from; Austria, Italy, India, Belgium, France & Switzerland with attractive frankings. Also U.S. Private letter carriers mail including Adam's Express Co., American Letter Co., Wells Fargo (1864-1898) & (1861-65) U.S. Civil War patriotics. Plus stamp rarities including a Post Masters provisional 'ACM' & Scott 1, 2 on/off cover, with later U.S. classics featuring an array of fancy cancels.

The Professor Paul Phillips Exhibition Collection of 1840-56 British International Mails Reform

The 8-frame award-winning Exhibition Collection showing the development of international postal agreements between Great Britain and the whole of the rest of the world, during the first 16 years after the start of Uniform Penny Postage, with the emphasis on postal rates. Including Transatlantic New York Postmasters Provisional and US 1847 Issue 5c covers, a study of Prussian Mails, a stunning corner marginal GB 1/- Embossed on cover to New Zealand, Surface Printed gems, and mails to and from all 5 Continents.

The "Gate" Collection of Classic G.B.

With extensive line-engraved, embossed, and surface printed issues.

As well as the Michael Frederiksen Collection of Sudan, rare Indian Campaign covers with 1st Afghan War, Indian Mutiny etc., and the fine & unusual stamps and postal history that Cavendish is renowned for.
