    THE DENIS VANDERVELDE COLLECTION OF ACCOUNTANCY MARKINGS - EUROPE - PORTUGAL/FRANCE - UNPAID COVER TO PARIS "Par l'angleterre" WITH EXCEEDINGLY RARE STAR-FRAMED "G.B./3sh4d" MARK: Aug. 1852 unpaid E from Lisbon to Paris (25 Aug. backstamp) "Par l'angleterre" with remarkably scarce star "G.B./3sh4d" accountancy mark in black (v. fine example; just m/s "16" grazing the outline) on the front along with boxed "LISBON" h.s. & Calais transit mark (blue sender's cachet & GB transit mark on reverse). This accountancy mark was only used for 3 days in 1852 and Van der Linden notes only two other examples which are both in red. Seldom seen item in exceptional condition.
