The EL bears 1d red AL tied by numeral "57" (Chief Office) and TH in a different shade tied by a numeral "6" (Inland Office). The letter addressed to Dr J Lee L.L.D. F.R.S. informs of the forthcoming committee meeting of the Aborigine Protection League and is signed "Thomas Hodgkin". On reverse is a blue "21 Oxford St" h.s. Some faults but an interesting item.Thomas Hodgkin was the foremost pathologist of his day who founded the Aborigine Protection League in 1837. It was later to merge with the Anti-slavery Society.
