Alington of Swinhope, one of the original members of Bishop Tozer's mission to the Congo, organised by Dr Livingstone in 1862 - Rev. Alington spent much of the 1860s in subsequent missions to the Congo region, inspired by Livingstone. The 12 paintings inc. Chibisa Station, Kongoni, an Arab slave ship, native boat on the Zambezi, camping around a wagon, natives, a rhino etc.; one or two with wear but most remarkably fresh.
