"Burlingn" m/s dated mark with fine Montreal "PAID" on the front and with mostly v. fine 2-line "MONTREAL" d.s. just across the join. Good pair showing 11˝/17 and 9/20 split rates. Fort Niagara "NIAG/MAY 28" mark on the front. Fascinating contents from a soldier to his mother; "...we are stationed one mile from our Garrison; it is a pleasant situation opposite the British.
