606 RARE EARLY NIAGARA COVER TO G.B. WITH "NIAG/april 12" + "PAID" MARKS, ETC.: 1810 (12 April) EL (flap faults do not detract) ex "Niagara" to Bristol endorsed "Post Pd to New York" on obverse, having mostly v.fine matching "NIAG", "PAID[20?]" and "April 12" marks neatly placed on the front along with v.fine (though doubled) strike of the London "PACKET LETTER" mark (Rob. P2; scarce this early) on the front & a "1/10" arrival charge. This letter should have been marked with the "AMERICA/F" mark but it was routed via London in error. Photo plate 17B £150
