WRECK OF THE S.S. KINGSTONIAN COVER WITH "DAMAGED BY IMMERSION/IN SEA WATER" CACHET, ETC.; 25 Mar. 1918 usage of the 5m red P. Stat. env. (understandable wear & fading) from "BARA" (v. fine c.d.s. cancel) to GB (v. fine "SHELLAL-HALFA/T.P.O/No.1" c.d.s. on rveerse, but clearly damaged in transit, and with mostly very fine purple London "DAMAGED BY IMMERSION/IN SEA WATER" cachet on the reverse; apparently wrecked on the SS 'Kingstonian' when she was torpedoed off Sardinia on 11 Aug. 1918. Plus 1918 usage of the same 5m env. (v. fine; with "HALFA SPORTS CLUB" cachet) to Cairo cancelled by v. fine "SHELLAL-HALFA/T.P.O/No./ SUDAN" c.d.s. Both have indecipherable triangular Sudan censor marks on the front. (2 covers).
