** 240 MONTGOMERY, Bernard Law - SIGNED AUTOGRAPH NOTE & 8th ARMY PRINTED CIRCULAR TO TROOPS IN ITALY: 1947 (2 June) sheet of War Office paper dated & signed by "Monty" himself; "Montgomery of Alamein, Field-Marshal" plus a printed sheet (28/4/43 - some toning) giving a rallying message to the British forces in Tunisia just before they were to approach the enemy's "Last stand". Less than a week after the date of this circular, the final Battle of Tunisia that led to the capitulation of the Axis forces in North Africa by the end of May. Scarce pair. £75
