IRELAND: 1929 (15 Aug.) env. from Boston via Galway to London franked with USA 2c red and a green "AIRMAIL - "KARLSRUHE" - GALWAY" label, flown on the first Galway to London flight. The N. German Lloyd ship "Karlsruhe" docked in Galway Harbor at 6.15 a.m. on 26th Aug. The mail was tranferred to a waiting tender and carried to the docks. It was then transferred by car to Oranmore Aerodrome and was flown AT 7.30AM. PHOTO - see plate no. 13
