1571 BANGOR & LEEDS T.P.O. STRUCK ON INTERNAL WELSH COVER; 9/10 July 1867 env. (minor faults) to Port Penrhyn with 1d Red (pl.101) tied by Carnarvon duplex, having a very fine strike of the rare "B&L" in Star mark (neatly closed opening tear & crease barely detract) on the reverse beside a Bangor transit c.d.s. Very few covers with marks of this T.P.O. dated prior to 1890 have been recorded. This is Wilson Fig. 128, and he only records 4 earlier covers from this T.P.O. 1575 WREXHAM - POSTAL SERVICE RELATED EPHEMERA: One page broadsheet headed "PROPOSED NEW STYLE OF POSTAGE STAMP - MILTON VILLA, WREXHAM, DECEMBER 26th 1893" being a letter from Mr. J. Edgar, the then Head Postmaster of Wrexham, one page printed sheet (affixed to black card) headed "LEGAL STAMPS" consisting of a lengthy newspaper article on local registration, further article (also stuck to black card) headed "WHO IS THE INVENTOR OF THE POSTAL ORDER?" claiming that Edgar had every right to be recognised as such despite the claims of others and letter by Edgar to the newspaper's editor headed "POSTAL REFORM".
