1116 BROSELEY - RARE USAGE OF THE "BROSELEY" VILLAGE UDC AS CANCELLATION ON IMPERF. 1d RED COVER; Remarkable 4 Jan. 1846 EL from Broseley to Much Wenlock franked by a 4m 1d Red (filing crease) tied by a mostly very fine strike of the black sanserif "BROSELEY" UDC with a second strike on the cover beside the address, with very fine Much Wenlock arrival c.d.s. Rare example of a Ride Letter that was cancelled at the village rather than going away from its destination for cancellation at its Head P.O. (Wellington in this case).
