VIA SYDNEY; 25 July 1843 E from "Livosomo" (could be a mis-reading of Somo Somo or Loma Loma; it is a clearly written filing note on lower flap) sent by "R.B. Lyth" (the well-known Missionary in Fiji in the 1840s) to the Wesleyan Missions Society in London, having a very fine red oval 10 Oct. 1843 "PAID SHIP LETTER/(Crown)/SYDNEY" transit datestamp on the front and a 26 Feb. 1844 London arrival c.d.s. on the flap. The "3[d]" outgoing NSW rate was prepaid and the "8[d]" British arrival Ship Letter charge was charged; this letter was 7 months in transit.
