With Lord Wellington's Army, Portugal". Long interesting letter from Lord Blantyre's wife, written on a single very large sheet. Surprisingly few letters sent by mail to Wellington's Army during the Peninsular Campaign have survived. Exhibition Item. RARE ROULETTED "EMBLEMS ISSUE" COVER TO THE U.S. VIA G.B. AT THE 1s-2d RATE; 13th Dec. 1858 env. (flaps slightly refolded on two sides) from Geelong (oval d.s. on reverse) to Boston, franked by the 1857-8 rouletted "Emblem" 4d dull red (2: one very off-centre) and 2d dull lilac (single and pair; latter quite well-centred) all tied by fair to fine Geelong "5" numerals, having a fine red London (11th Feb.) and v. fine large "BOSTON/5cts/BR.
