473 RARE DWI / USA COMBINATION FRANKING ON CURAÇAO COVER: 1871 (7 Nov.) E (fragile along folds / some repair) to New York, docketted as ex Maduro & Co., Curaçao, and endorsed 'Via San Tomas'; franked with 4-margin DWI 3c rose, just tied by dumb cancellation with weak St Thomas c.d.s. On its arrival at New York, a US 10c Jefferson [SG152, no grill]stamp was added for internal postage & cancelled by a red 'NEW YORK - PAID ALL' c.d.s.
