934 PERU - CALLAO - A SPECTACULAR THREE COUNTRY COMBINATION COVER: 1877 (15 Oct.) env. from Callao "Via Panama" to Florence franked with Peru 10c green strip of three, Great Britain 1877 4d sage plate 15 EG & 1876 8d orange pair JB-JC plus a single TE, all tied by the "C38" numeral of Callao. On arrival the cover was charged 180c postage due and a vertical strip of Italy 60c magenta & orange were added and tied by the boxed "ARRIVO/FIRENZI" d.s. The cover is enhanced with various transit marks and rates comprising oval red "INSUFFICIENTLY/+/PREPAID" & blue "T" plus m/s "11d", "18" and "60". The several of the adhesives have defects and the cover shows signs of wear. However it would in our opinion be very dificult to find another such spectacular cover. Signed by Diena and RPS Cert.
