The following 144 lots include the exceptional collection of Seychelles stamps and postal history formed by John Betts of Bexhill-on-Sea. John is a very well known collector in his field and has written several erudite articles for the Study Circle Journal. The collection contains many items of note including a splendid range of stamps with an excellent selection of Queen Victoria surcharges, strong sections of King Edward VII and King George V and an exceptional group of King George VI issues including H.V. Farmer's mint studies of the 1938-49 and 1952 definitives. The postal history includes many items of note covering a wide range of topics and is primarily alphabetically arranged immediately after the stamp section (lots 4911-4957).
