E (a little grubby, flap removed), to London ex Paris with 20c stamp & Place de la Bourse c.d.s. struck over a boxed 'AFFRANCHISEMENT/INSUFFICIENT' [The Prussians refused to acknowledge the franking power of French stamps for foreign mail during the Armistice period]; the reverse has a fine blue strike of the rare boxed 'VERSAILLES/AUSWECHSELUNGS STELLE' mark used by the Prussian censor on bundles of foreign mail [recorded 10th-15th February]. On arrival at the London Foreign Branch, it was struck with a red quartered c.d.s. with the underpaid 'N' code and a very fine and scarce handstruck '4d' due mark. Despite faults, a rare item.
