** 1626 COVERS/CARDS: An interesting accumulation of covers and cards, etc. Includes a study of the late 19th century Postage Due handstamps(16), a selection of covers with various cancellations (15), 1946 Orcha registered cover franked 1a & 4as, WWII cover with Anglo-Soviet-Persian censorship cachet from Persia to India, 43 items of Gwalior Postal stationery, all used (1895-1945), 1878 re-directed cover from London with Overland Postage Due marking and "H & K Pac" c.d.s.on reverse. A selection of 1926-39 covers including 1934 Lahore-Karachi first flight cover with "State stamps inadmissible for Air service - Initials), hence it took 6 days to reach Bombay. Another first flight Karachi-Lahore using Chamba State stamps, no annotation - took 3 days! Three Egyptian ppc's, with different WWI Military P.O. markings, one with I.E.F. censor in magenta and 6 telegrams with different Gandhi/KGVI combination frankings (1948).
