BURMA/INDIA - CAMPAIGN COVER WITH BOXED "INDIA LETTER/BRIGHTON" & Axminster/Py Post" MARKS; Fine 1st Jan. 1826 EL from "Lama Cuttur" (up-country en route from Madras to Burma?) to Devon (redirected to Cornwall) from a British officer engaged with the forces intent on taking "the fortress of Bhurtpore" and proceeding to Burma (where the sender's brother was), with much comment on the war with Burma; the postal marks include a fine Madras d.s. (7th Jan.) beside a very fine boxed "INDIA LETTER/BRIGHTON" on the top flap, a fair blue boxed "Axminster/Py Post" on the front and a very fine "TEIGNMOUTH/192" UDC on the lower flap. Rare thus.
