1422 BRITISH NAVY AT VLADIVOSTOCK IN 1919: A superb photograph of the U.S.S. 'Albany' & H.M.S. 'Kent' at Vladivostock and a v. fine portrait of Capt. J.W.Edwards of the 'Kent' (bearing a striking resemblance to King George V), both on card mounts, along with a group of unused contemporary PPCs of the city, cathedral and harbour with allied warships in dock, the 'Kent' being suitably marked. 1462 PROPAGANDA MATERIAL: c.1844 small unused env. with uncancelled 1d red (3 huge margins but just shaved at the foot and scissors cut at bottom right corner) and printed address "Mrs. Edward Roberts,/or,/Mrs. G. Mansfield,/TROWBRIDGE,/Wiltshire." with additional printed inscription at top "To Postmasters:--/An immediate answer to this Letter expected:/Any delay will be enquired into." Presumably this env. was produced as a direct result of the anti-Graham campaign and the attendant revelations about the detention and opening of mail in the Post Office's Secret Office and is the only example of which we are aware.
