1369 1947 SIXPENCE USED AS POSTAGE DUE: 1950 (28 April) An unstamped env. to Dover with "SOUTH EASTERN T.P.O./DOWN" c.d.s. and boxed "Posted without late fee/6d to pay" with m/s "P246B to Counter. The postage due was paid by a 1947 6d which is tied by a fine "DOVER KENT" c.d.s. Also a 1949 used P246B Postal Packets Awaiting Form. £70
1370 THE RARE HERNE BAY PROVISIONAL: 1951 Wrapper used from London to Herne Bay franked with a 1951 1d with "1D/I.S." h.s. and franked with another 1951 1d h.s "1D-/366" of Herne Bay tied with m/s lines. The wrapper which was an account was then returned to the sender in a separate envelope for receipting, it was then again sent back in its original form with a 1951 11/2d. paying the correct rate. A very rare item as one mint block of six and eight examples on pieces are believed to have been recorded. A copy letter from the Herne Bay P.O. regarding the use of the provisional is included.
