1087 MILITARY - CRIMEAN WAR, INCLUDING AN ENVELOPE ADDRESSED TO A PARTICIPANT IN THE CHARGE OF THE LIGHT BRIGADE: 1855 env. from The Crimea to Captain Morris in London with a fine h.s. "3". 1855 env. from St. Leonards to Balaclava franked with 1d pair & single. 1855 mourning env. from Seahouses to Crimea franked with 1d & 2d. 1855 env. from Thetford via Marseilles to the Crimea franked with 1d & 2d. 1856 Part of an OHMS env. (stamps cut away and reduced at right) from the Crimea to London giving news of peace. 1090 MILITARY - WWI: 1919 cover from the Naval Transport Office, Venice authenticated by Lieutenant H.W.Taylor, R.N.V.R. to a merchant in Massa bearing the Massa-Seziori Riunite receiving mark on reverse and a fine example of the oval "R.R.POSTE/NAVAL/TRANSPORT OFFICE/VENEZIA" cachet in blue on obverse. Also a cover from a German P.O.W. on H.M.S. "Foerina", a prison ship moored off Southend, with fine circular red "POST FREE/P.C./PRISONERS OF WAR" cachet containing a letter from Reservist W. Krimmer, Berth 1270, Section 7 to his pastor in Germany. A scarce pair. £65
