| PART TWO OF THE BOB MURTON COLLECTION OF BRITISH POSTAGE DUE LABELS AND COVERS. |
| Following the exceptionally successful 9th September 2000 Cavendish Auction of the first 149 lots of this remarkable Collection, the second part of the Collection is offered hereafter. I was Clearly taken in by Bob's good health (and good looks!), when I said he had reached the tender age of 75 in the text of the September Catalogue; in fact he has reminded me that he is already 82. This may explain how he managed to amass such an extraordinary collection! For those who missed part 1, I refer you to page 60 of Cavendish's September 2000 catalogue, for the full background to Bob's collection. I must also mention that hammer prices averaged almost exactly 100% over estimates in the first auction, which proves that British Postage Due material has truly come of age. |
