THE ANTI-GRAHAM CAMPAIGN & A COWES PATENT RIVET-SEAL; March 1848 1d Red env. to London with 2m 1d Red tied by faint numeral, having a fine red embossed "NORTHWOOD PARK/COWES/ONLY" wafer seal with small brass "PATENT" rivet in centre beside the fair red "COWES" backstamp; these secure seals were introduced in the aftermath of the Anti-Graham campaign following the scandal of the Secret P.O. of 1844. Plus 1832 E franked by "Graham" himself with v. fine "COWES/I. of Wt" UDC on flap, 1844 Punch "Paul Pry" cartoon, another cartoon and an 1841 1d Red E ex Cowes also signed by Sir James Graham.
