PE & QE creased and PF has been lifted and hinged back into position. The cover has a m/s "6 To Pay" crossed through with another m/s "d6 to pay" below. 1113 FANCY EMBOSSED PICTORIAL LETTER-SHEET OF "COWES"; 13th July 1841 EL (minor creasing) prepaid 1d in cash to London with fine "COWES" c.d.s. on flap, having a charming vignette of "COWES" printed at the top of the first inside page, set inside a fancy embossed frame. 1118 THE ANTI-GRAHAM CAMPAIGN & A COWES PATENT RIVET-SEAL; March 1848 1d Red env. to London with 2m 1d Red tied by faint numeral, having a fine red embossed "NORTHWOOD PARK/COWES/ONLY" wafer seal with small brass "PATENT" rivet in centre beside the fair red "COWES" backstamp; these secure seals were introduced in the aftermath of the Anti-Graham campaign following the scandal of the Secret P.O. of 1844. 1126 KEVIII "ISLE OF WIGHT SCOUT RALLY BALLOON RACE" TAG; Rare card 27th July 1937 tag (understandable creasing) with printed heading of this race and addressed to the organisers in Newport, I.O.W., franked by KEVIII 1/2d tied by Lymington c.d.s. with note that the tag's balloon (launched from Newport) had been found at "Key haven" (a village near Milford in Hants.), with separate note that (the organisers thought) this was in "Scotland"!
