Some cover faults , mainly on reverse. Due to the outbreak of the Franco-Prussian war in 1870 (July) the normal ail route was changed on 21st October 1870 to a route via Belgium and the Brenner Pass to Brindisi. The above is an early example and only the second example of this h.s. we have recorded on outgoing mail from GB.
