376 1776-1827 Quartet of ELs showing manuscript markings indicating high early postal rates comprising 1776 from London to Bridgwater with "Partington" RH mark, rated "3/4" (ten times the normal rate of 4d), 1803 London to Bath rated at "4/1" and thence uprated to "8/2" (14 times the 7d rate), 1820 from Aberdeen to Edinburgh rated at "9/2_" (11 times the 10d rate) and 1827 from Glasgow to Edinburgh rated at "8/9_" (15 times the normal rate).
