Professional fees

SALES BY AUCTION IN DERBY, LONDON OR ELSEWHERE
For individual lots realising over £1000 –––––– 10% of the hammer price
For individual lots realising up to £1000 –––––– 15% of the hammer price
A nominal £2 charge per lot is also made to cover insurance and black-and-white photography where appropriate.
A minimum charge of £8 applies for unsold lots, and £10 for lots sold (except for lots with a reserve price higher than the standard Cavendish reserves level of 66% of estimate, when 10% of the reserve – minimum £15 – will be charged.) Withdrawn lots will be charged at 25% of estimate. In the case of bulky or very heavy lots an additional discretionary charge between £5 and £20 will be made and travel/petrol charges (at cost) may be made when material is collected by Cavendish's staff or representative. (Buyers pay a premium of 15% of the hammer price of each lot.)

SALES BY PRIVATE TREATY
Commission rates vary according to the amount of work involved. Cavendish will provide quotations by arrangement.

VALUATION FEES
These fees vary, being charged by the hour plus any out-of-pocket expenses, but they will normally be refunded in full in the event of the material being sold by Cavendish within 6 months of the valuation being undertaken by their experts.

Most charges for UK and EC vendors are subject to VAT at the current rate

Each lot is received for sale subject to the "Philatelic Auctioneers' standard terms and conditions of sale" and the "Terms and condition of sale of Cavendish Philatelic Auctions Ltd." as published in the catalogues.

Each lot will be sold subject to the standard Cavendish reserve minimum of 66% of printed estimate, unless the contrary is expressed in writing by the vendor. Written instructions as to the reserves (if any) must reach us at least 7 days before the date of sale and must be confirmed after receipt of notification of lot numbers. All reserves should be in sterling (gross).

The auctioneer will not be responsible for the loss or damage f stamps received inadequately mounted or arranged.

Overseas vendors must contact us prior to despatching material for sale, for us to be able to arrange free transit insurance.
